After spending over a decade working as a paramedic, Scott decided it was time for a change and started down the path of web development. Currently, Scott is a Senior Software Architect at Alagad. He has been working with ColdFusion since version 5 and has been a Macromedia/Adobe Certified Advanced ColdFusion Developer since ColdFusion MX. He has developed and fostered a passion for Flex, and her half-sister AIR. Scott is also a blogger, author and frequent speaker at User Groups and conferences on various Flex and ColdFusion topics.
Ben Nadel is the chief software engineer at Epicenter Consulting, a boutique software company in New York City that specializes in developing high-end, customized business solutions. He is also an Adobe Community Expert as well as an Adobe Certified Professional in Advanced ColdFusion. A veteran ColdFusion developer and troubleshooter since 1997 with over 25 years in IT, Charlie Arehart is a longtime contributor to the community and a recognized Adobe Community Expert. As an independent consultant, he provides short-term troubleshooting/tuning assistance and training/mentoring for organizations of all sizes and CF experience levels (carehart.org/consulting). Besides running the 1800-member Online ColdFusion Meetup (coldfusionmeetup.com, an online CF user group), he also hosts the UGTV repository of recorded presentations from hundreds of speakers (carehart.org/ugtv) and the CF411 site of several hundred tools/resources for CFers (cf411.com). Hal Helms is a well-known speaker/writer/strategist on software development issues. Hal has a monthly column in "ColdFusion Developer's Journal" and has written and contributed to several books. Raymond Camden is a software consultant. A long time ColdFusion user, Raymond has worked on numerous ColdFusion books including the ColdFusion Web Application Construction Kit and has contributed to the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update and the ColdFusion Developers Journal. He also presents at conferences and contributes to online webzines. He founded many community web sites including CFLib.org, ColdFusionPortal.org, ColdFusionCookbook.org and is the author of open source applications, including the popular BlogCFC blogging application. Sean is currently Chief Technology Officer for Railo Technologies US. He has worked in IT for over twenty five years, starting out writing database systems and compilers then moving into mobile telecoms and finally into web development in 1997. Along the way, he worked on the ISO and ANSI C++ Standards committees for eight years and is a staunch advocate of software standards and best practice. Sean has championed and contributed to a number of CFML frameworks and was lead developer on Fusebox for two years.
Wes is a Flex/Flash Developer at AGInteractive(American Greetings) in Cleveland OH. Formerly a senior flash developer at CSD, creating web applications for the FAA(Federal Avaiation Administration) supporting there E-Learning Initiatives. He also spends time coding in Coldfusion, Revolution(Transcript), Python and good ole C++. Wes enjoys creating video games and tooling around in Virtual Worlds such as (Second Life, IMVU, Kaneva as an Elite Developer, and recently as a city developer for Blue Mars by avatar reality).
Jason Dean is a Web Application Developer for the Minnesota Department of Health and a speaker, bloggers, and writer on web development topics. He has worked in web development for both the commercial and government (State and Federal) sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in IT Management from American Military University and is a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He lives in Farmington, MN with his wife and two children.
Mark Mandel is a software developer in Melbourne Australia that spends most of his working day developing in ColdFusion and Java. (Give us a better bio mark!)
Barney Boisvert is a Sr. Application Developer at Mentor Graphics primarily using ColdFusion, Groovy, JavaScript, along with a smattering of Java and Flex. He is the author of the CFGroovy and FB3Lite frameworks, was a core contributor to Fusebox 4, and has provided accepted patches to Fusebox 5, Prototype, Groovy, Hibernate and ColdSpring, in addition to building several micro-frameworks from the ground up. He is also an active member in local and online CF, Flex, and Java communities and occasionally speaks at user groups and conferences.
Brian Kotek has been building web applications for over 11 years for a range of enterprise customers and government agencies. His expertise lies in ColdFusion, Flex, AIR, Java, and object-oriented development. He is a frequent blogger, writes for publications such as CNET and Fusion Authority Quarterly Update, and is a regular speaker at conferences such as CF.Objective() and CFUnited. Brian is a member of the ColdSpring development team, and has assisted with a number of popular projects including Model-Glue, ColdBox, and Transfer. He also has released a number of open-source projects including the ColdMock mock object factory, ColdSpring Bean Utilities, UML to CFC Generator, and FormUtilities. Brian also moderates the ColdFusion forums at Devshed, and helps answer questions on a number of high-traffic mailing lists.
